Yobo closer to first Euro glory

Nigeria skipper Joseph Yobo
Nigeria skipper Joseph Yobo is only a win away from grabbing a Turkish League winners’ medal after his club Fenerbache thrashed Ankaragucu 6-0 at the weekend.
This would be the first major honour for the 30-year-old defender since he moved to Europe in 1998.
Fenerbache, who have compiled an amazing run of 16 wins and a draw in their last 17 games, are tied on 79 points from 33 matches, same as champions Trabzonspor.
They now have to win away at Sivaspor on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the championship.
Last season, Yobo’s club lost the title on the last day of action when they were held to a draw by eventual champions Trabzonspor.
Yobo, who is on a season-long loan from English club Everton, has so much stabilised the defence of the Istanbul giants that they have set a European record this season as they are yet to let in a goal in the last 853 minutes of action at home.
