Enyimba hold Gabon's Sportive

Enyimba
Nigeria’s representatives in the Orange CAF Champions League, Enyimba FC on Sunday drew 0-0 with Union Sportive de Bitam of Gabon in a first leg round of 16 game.

Enyimba will now regard themselves favourites ahead of the second leg in Aba, in a forthnight. “We are pleased with this result,’ Chairman of Enyimba FC, Felix Anyansi Agwu told SuperSport.com shortly after the game.

“We played better than our opponents but we were unfortunate not to convert numerous opportunities.
However, we are not too disappointed as a draw away from home in this kind of competition cannot be regarded as a bad result,” he stressed.

The Enyimba chief stated that the Peoples’ Elephants will not go to sleep despite the favourable result.
“We are experienced and know that it is not the end of the tie.

There is still a second leg to play and until that is executed, we cannot say we have qualified for the next round,’ he said. Enyimba have won the CAF Champions’ League title on two occasions.
