Ahmed Musa impresses in Champions League debut

Nigeria winger, Ahmed Musa put in a lively performance for Russian army club, FCF CSKA Moscow in their first leg, round of 16 clash against nine-time European champions, Real Madrid on Tuesday night..

As expected, Ahmed Musa made his UCL bow for CSKA under freezing conditions at the Luznicki Stadium.

The former VVV Venlo attacker was on from the start and quickly got involved with dazzling runs; one of which looked set to bear fruit before he was unceremoniously hauled over by Real’s Portuguese left back, Fabio Coentrao on 6 minutes.

CSKA looked to stop the Spaniards from imposing their passing game and Musa was involved all night long.

The young Nigerian was again involved in the 11th minute with a fine challenge on Coentrao as he repaid the favour.

Musa’s quick thinking in the 21st minute resulted in a cross been whipped in from the left but the winger hit his effort long.

CSKA coach, Leonid Slutsky eventually hooked the Nigerian for Liberian, Sekou Oliseh in the 64th minute.

Musa and his CSKA Moscow teammates will be huge underdogs ahead of the second leg at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
