Players and officials of Nigeria Premier League club, Wikki Tourists have been attacked by armed robbers on their way to honour a league match against Warri Wolves.

The Wikki contingent was attacked along Abuja/Lokoja expressway on Friday.

Goalkeeper of the team, Afessoh Attah told SuperSport.com that players and officials of the club lost cash and valuables to the robbers.

“Yes it is true. We were attacked by robbers and they carted away our phones and cash,” Attah told SuperSport.com.

It is still unclear whether the club’s game against Wikki Tourists which was supposed to be played this weekend will still go ahead.
