Impeached former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sani Lulu, his former vice president, Amanze Uchegbulam, and the federation's former technical committee chairman, Taiwo Ogunjobi, have withdrawn their case against the NFF from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
The trio were challenging what they described as their "wrongful impeachment" from the federation last year.
A. P. Ameh, the lawyer representing the trio, said the decision was to allow them continue with the ongoing process of resolving the issues by other means.
"The recent developments that informed the withdrawal of the appeal include: The intervention of the President of CAF, Isa Hayatou, who recently assured the appellants of his unalloyed determination to resolve the issues peacefully.
"The nullification of the unlawful impeachment of the appellants by the congress of the NFF on the 28th of December, 2010, and The appointment of a new Minister of Sports, who has shown a determination to refocus the sector and ensure rapid development," their letter to CAS read.
