Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has described the state of the art official car presented to him by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as first of its kind treatment for any national team coach.
“Honestly, I am bowled over. I do not think any head coach of the national team whether indigenous or expatriate has ever had this kind of car for his official use. Certainly, I am grateful to the NFF for fulfillment of its promises.“It is now incumbent on me and my colleagues in the technical crew as well as the players not to disappoint.
We will give our very best and do everything we can to earn results on the field that will give Nigerians joy”, said Siasia.
SuperSport.com learnt that the NFF executive committee and management on Tuesday formally presented Ford Taurus 2010 car to Siasia as his official car, complete with official driver, and the former international promptly drove off with the car to his evening training session.
After the five million naira monthly salary for Siasia the NFF has continued to show good faith by ceding to the former Nigerian international the right to pick his first assistant as well as took his view over the choice of his two local assistants, and was also sponsored on a tour of Europe to see his some of Nigeria’s international players and prospective ones.
Chairman of the finance committee, Shehu Adamu said on Wednesday morning that the official apartment for coach Siasia will be ready in a matter of weeks.
“We have been on this for some time now but we have not been able to see the type we want.
The president has given a marker that it must be super. And that is what we are working on. We now have a couple of options from which we believe we can settle for one,” said Adamu.
