ALBION was yesterday handed a fitness boost as Peter Odemwingie trained ahead of tomorrow’s showdown with Blackpool.
Express Star reported that the striker, who needed an injection to get through the recent game at Fulham because of an ankle injury, was a major doubt for the Seasiders clash. However, after the hitman trained yesterday, Odemwingie is back in the mix for the visit of Ian Holloway’s men.
Odemwingie has been struggling with an ankle injury that saw him miss last weekend's 0-1 FA Cup third-round defeat at Reading, while Pablo Ibanez, who is also fit, has been sidelined for the last two games due to a hamstring problem.
The pair now has a chance of being available for selection against the Seasiders, as Di Matteo said: "Peter is better. He trained a little bit today (yesterday) so we'll have to see how he reacts tomorrow (today).
"Pablo joined in as well today, so he is better too but he's still a doubt at this stage. Ishmael (hamstring) and Steven Reid (knee) are injured, with Olsson suspended."
The Baggies boss is hoping that Miller will be fit to train in seven to ten days.
